To become a CNA, you must complete a program certified nursing assistant, then pass the certification test of CNA. You can pass the certification exam easily, but it requires some knowledge that can be learned by taking a certified nursing assistant training program (RN or LPN courses). Understanding what you need to know about the certification test is an important step helping you pass the test and move into your new career.
To obtain your nursing assistant certification, you have to pass the CNA exam, which has a written part and practice part. The written examination will take place first as you can not pass the clinical examination until you pass the written exam. The written exam includes the basics you’ve learned at lessons as basic care and medical terminology. After this stage, you will then proceed to the clinical part of CNA certification.
Practice part is more complicated than you have to use things you learned on a real person. This practical exam usually requires you to demonstrate your understanding of the three to five concepts you learned in class.
You need to show things like hand washing techniques, how to position a patient, how to preserve patient dignity when they are in a vulnerable state, changing bedpans and more. This part of the certification test will be controlled by a state medical examiner has approved and will normally be scheduled on a different date for your written exam. The great thing is, once your practical test is over you whether you succeeded or failed on the spot.
You may be able to find sites that offer free practice exam for your state, but if you can not find one, you can usually buy one for a small fee. If you want to start a career in this rapidly growing area and earn a good certified nursing assistant salary, then you’ll have to pass the test of CNA certification and to take all necessary steps to pass both parts of your review.
